Edinburgh
Is Edinburgh the Athens of the North, the Pyongyang of the West, the Baffin Island of the East or, as Tom Stoppard once called it, the Reykjavik of the South? And does anyone care?

Edinburgh is a cold place I go to from time to time when lying in a

Plainly we need a fresh approach to this question. What events or
performances are we all proposing to stage at next year’s Edinburgh
Festival? (How about something radical like non-naked comedians, or
non-tedious Peruvian folk musicians?) Failing that, what events are
we going to stamp out, whatever the cost?
